1. Selling yourself as a beginner
I found a prime example of this in a forum for artists seeking work. The thread title was „Starting-out artist looking for a chance",, and the thread told that the artist is „looking for a client for whom I may draw" and has „just graduated from art college".
We all were at this point once, but usually it takes too long to realize that „beginner" is the wrong mindset, even if you are one. Such statements sound like excuses and are guaranteed to weaken your position. Don't make excuses. Do not justify your work, and do not justify your prices. It's quite a LOT of books. But consider that I've collected them over the course of the past 10 years. I still re-read them whenever I find time, and learn new things from them.
More than half of my books are in English, because that's where the good stuff is at.
Titles in other languages than English are written in cursive.

How To Improve Your Art"How do I improve my art work?" is one of the most asked questions in art related forums, mainly regarding drawing and painting in any media. Because the question is recurring so often, I wrote the following tips that I still copy-paste in various threads.
You can apply these universal strategies not just to traditional and digital painting media, but most of them even to photography and collage.
- Look at pictures by artists you admire, and try to figure out things. How do they handle light and color? What edges are sharp, and what edges are soft? Why do they use that particular color there? What technique did they use? How did they work? The more you look at work of others, the more different kinds of styles and techniques you will see.

Update:

According to Adobe, these seemingly free downloads were/are available only for clients who had already purchased CS2 software:

For obtaining illegal copies of graphics software, that is.

What I mean?
Adobe is offering various software downloads for free - Photoshop CS2 among others!

Whoever wasn't able to afford them until now should take advantage.
You only need to register for free at the Adobe website. And probably need to set the programs to run in "Windows XP mode" if you're using a newer Windows.

I'm going to test a few of these right now! I have only Photoshop which I bought years ago, none of the others!

If you don't have a previous license of CS2, installing this IS exactly the same as obtaining illegal copies of graphics software. If you haven't bought CS2, you are not entitled to commercially use any software provided at the link you posted - they're just providing it to owners of CS2 since the activation-required versions no longer work. H-Ell's and dierat's links provide more insight regarding the official stance of Adobe on this.

Die haben die Aktivierungsserver terminiert, das heisst existierende Kunden von CS2 können ihre Software nicht mehr aktivieren - deswegen die Downloads und Seriennummern.
Ohne gekauftes CS2 kann man das Programm NICHT legal nutzen.
